CalFire Benevolent Fund

A revamp on a website that encourages people to give back to the heroes of CalFire

Overview

After years of struggling with their old website, the CalFire Benevolent Foundation finally decided that it was time to update their site. The CalFire Benevolent Foundation provides financial assistance to firefighters, their families, and burn victims, through the collection of donations.

The challenge

CalFire’s main ask was to have a new website that was responsive and easy to edit. They also wanted their new site to encourage people to donate.

Working with what we have

CalFire did not want to steer away from their original website look, but they were open to simplifying the layout of the pages and incorporating some of the colors from their new logo.

The solution

By simplifying the layout and adjusting some of the colors, I was able to bring this old website back to life. As a way to encourage people to donate to the foundation, I added a bright donate button to the navigation. Additionally, the bottom of each page presents visitors with options on how they can help the foundation. A section highlighting the stories of fallen fighter fighters, was also added to encourage people to want to help families who lost their love ones.

Meeting the clients’ needs

As requested by the client, I made sure all the pages looked great on mobile and tablet.

Editing made easy

I built the website in Beaver Builder to facilitate the editing process for the clients. Aside from giving the client a training session on how to edit their website, I like to save out styled rows that they can re-use on new pages.
